I'm trying to trobleshoot a friend's system that is having a problem
whenever he tries to run games.  As soon as the game loads, the message
"Unable to set display to 800x600x16 - Fatal Error" comes up.  The graphics
card is an ATI 3D Rage Pro AGP 2X, and all appears well in device manager
under display adapters.  However, under "sound, video, and game
controllers", there is and alert next to "ATI bt829 Pro WDM video capture".
Under properties, a code 10 is listed, and suggests the device is not
present, or there is a problem with the driver.  I've tried updating the
driver, to no avail.  Some system details are:
Asus P2B, 400MHz PII
64 MB
8.4 GB WD HDD
ATI 3D Rage Pro
Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
