hi .
firstly check all your modem settings are correct;if possible use another
modem to test your line.contact  your isp to make sure it is no fault of
theirs.(i had a similar problem which was down to my isp)lastly try your
modem in a friends machine or local pc shop will test it for you for a small
fee.
