Patty,
You can take any 3.5 ffd and remove the face off the drive and put it back
in the same location as the old one. The eject button and light are built
into the case. I have done this several times. No need to use an empty
drive bay.

Good evening list,
Bear with me please. :-) Regarding a floppy disk drive that I have to
replace. It's factory installed in the 3.5" bay ACER stuck it in, above the
CD-ROM drive. The diskette drive has no face plate, it's open. It has a
knob that sticks out of the case to disengage the diskette from the drive
when you want to take the diskette out. There is just a 3.5" 'slit' big
enough in the tower case to insert a diskette. However, I do have a 5.25"
expansion bay just under the CD-ROM drive, two in fact. But neither are
small enough for a replacement diskette drive to fit into.
