That is WAY TOO HIGH!

My Athlon XP 1500+ (1.333 Ghz) Runs only at 45 C (around 115 F) when I'm
playing /w high CPU utiliziation games. With my Case running in the mid to
upper 70's F.

Now my old case didn't do a good job getting air in and out.

Check your case ventalation, I bet your case isn't moving the air in and out
efficently.
Check that and check your CPU, make sure the fan is working on the heatsink.
If you use
heat compound only use a very little bit, a thin layer that you can see thru
to the CPU
die.

Other wise your gonna have problems...........Or it could be the software
your using to measure is reading the wrong temp! I suggest rebooting and
entering CMOS setup, most any more have built in capablities to measture the
temp.

Patrick

Subject: [PCBUILD] AMD CPU temperature range?

What is an acceptable temperature range for an
AMD K6-2 500? I have one reading 70 C. This
seems high to me, isn't it?
