Depends on the processor you are using, too.  The Athlon processors are not
that memory bandwidth hungry, so the advantage of going to the higher
bandwidth DDR memory is not great.  The 10% mentioned by Rick Glazier is in
keeping with what I generally recall reading in reviews.  On the other hand,
the P4 processors do seem to thrive on higher memory bandwidth.  They will
do much better with RDRAM or DDR memory than with standard SDRAM.

You can look at some of these numbers yourself, by checking hardware review
sites, like Anandtech, and investigating their write-ups on various
motherboard chipsets.
