Netwok cards problem

I am having problems with NE 2000 network cards. On
one PC the device manager indicates that the card is not
functioning properly. The drivers were loaded from win
98. On the other PC the device manager indicates that
the card is functioning properly but the PC cant connect
to the internet and worse still cant even browse the
network neighbourhood (LAN). All the network seetings
have been configured correctly (DNS, IP address,
gateway, subnet mask etc)
