a tablet pc may be a good option.  I use the toshiba portege 3505 which is a
convertible (can be used as a laptop and tablet).  You can rotate the screen
and lay it down flat so it acts as a notepad.  Fujitsu and Gateway make a
different type of model where the screen is separate from the keyboard.
Both the screen and keyboard/mouse are easily transporable.  Hope this
