I'm mildly surprised at all these questions that don't mention the operating
system.
You might be able to change the Com port in Control Panel/System/ Device
Manager.
Open the modem icon, Click properties/ Resources and uncheck "Use auomatic
settings" Then pick your new com port. Dire warnings will follow, but you'll
be OK if you know what you're doing.
I'm assuming Win95/98.

This modem does not have any jumpers. PnP installs the modem on
COM3
irq 10. I want to install it on COM1 or COM 2 so that I can use
Control
Panel to make a virtual modem in order to log onto a UNIX
mainframe at
my work. How can I make the switch without the use of jumpers?
