  In theory, it should just pick up and install the new hardware, but in
practice the components needed by new hardware MAY conflict with components
already loaded to support the old hardware.
  You can avoid this by booting into Safe Mode, and running regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum, and delete
everything below that key.  Then reboot normally, and Windows will re-detect
your hardware and prompt for any new drivers it needs.
  Your application configurations will not be affected by this procedure.
