The beep code is dependent on what BIOS is installed on the motherboard. Usually a long slowly repeating beep indicates a RAM problem. Try reseating the DIMM into a different slot. If still no go, try substitution with a known good DIMM. Bad power supply could also be a problem. It may be bad or it just may not be enough power. But I put my money on the RAM being bad. Dust on the RAM can cause overheating and can actually fry the RAM. Try what I underlined above before replacing anything, say, from a friends computer or another household computer. Hope this helps.

Just had my kids computer just quit booting up. All I get is a steady beeping, no video or anything else. I have tried reseating everything with no result. Before I go out and start buying components I was hoping someone could sorta point me in the fight direction.

TIA
