  When you reset the BIOS via the motherboard jumper, it changed all sorts
of settings.  One of particular interest is whether ACPI is enabled or not;
Windows detects this setting and installs differently depending on whether
it is enabled or not.  I'm guessing that since you used the jumper, its
setting in the BIOS is different from what it was when Windows was
installed.  Try changing it to the other setting.
