Packard Bell, NewCom Weares 24x CD-ROM

I bought a new 16 bit ISA sound card, at CompUSA.  I know I
must sound like an idiot, but I didn't read everything on the
box.

Under Interfaces, it lists Panasonic CD-Audio.  Does this mean
it only plays Panasonic CD-ROM drives?  Will it play my Weares
CD-ROM drive? I currently have an audio cable leading from the
CD-ROM to the CD-ROM input on the sound card.

Any illumination is greatly appreciated.
