There are a few no-cost options to this.  You would probably be able to
download the linux boot disk at
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html  that will allow you
to edit the password even if running NTFS.  My personal situation requires
a bit more work.  I have a RAID system and that linux disk doesn't work
with some RAID systems.  There-for, I am attaching a second hard drive and
installing a new OS on to that drive.  Them I'm going to hook up the RAID
system and edit the password files after I boot from the new installation.
