Is there a way to save settings and downgrade (actually 98SE is better in my
experience too) to 98SE. I have a client with 2 older AMD K6-2 350 machines
that they want this done to... only if it is without reformating (of course
reformat is better..) and loosing everything. They inherrited these
machines with software installed, but they do not have the original the
original floppies and CDs to reinstall fresh.

Have you tried booting up in safe mode? It should work that way, then you
can copy your favorites and pictures to disk. If you decide to re-format,
if there's any way possible, dump ME and go back to 98se, you'll be much
better off. Make sure all your temporary file directories are cleaned out.
