You can go to your hard drive manufacturer's website and download their
utilities.  Look for the one that will write zeros to the whole drive.
After doing this, you should have no problem partitioning the drive however
you would like.

You might as well run their diagnostic scan while you are at it, just to
make sure your drive is still in good shape, before commiting new data to
it.

Perhaps you had GoBack installed and didn't uninstall it before trying to
repartition the drive.

During a windows install I wanted to repartition my harddrive, ie delete old
partitions/create new/format etc. I found that I could not format one or
delete it using fdisk.
