A new twist on this problem...

        At the suggestion of the warranty company (who REALLY
doesn't want to replace this computer) I tried plugging the
keyboard into the mouse port. It Worked!! But, if I plug the
mouse into the keyboard port, The computer beeps and the
keyboard flashes.
        I don't know that I've gained any ground, but I can access
the BIOS now...
        Any suggestions??
