Windows95 does not require any drivers loaded in either the
Config.sys or your Autoexec.bat. With that said, there is of
course exceptions to this rule. If you have an older CD rom
drive, 2X drive or earlier, it might be a proprietary drive connected
to a sound card. These drives often require special drivers.

The best way to find out, is to use your SYSEDIT program in
WIndows, click on Start | Run and type in Sysedit and click
on Okay. This editor will allow you to edit both the Config.sys
and Autoexec.bat.

In each of these files, remark out all the drivers. This is done
by typing REM in front of each line, followed by a space. When
windows starts it will not read or use any driver with a REM in
the front of the line. Here is an example:

{before}

device=c:\windows\himem.sys
device=c:\oakcdrom.sys /d:mscd001

{after}

rem device=c:\windows\himem.sys
rem device=c:\oakcdrom.sys /d:mscd001

In the after version, these lines are not read by WIndows. Remark
out all the lines... then restart windows. If your sound card or
CD rom do not function, then add the appropriate lines back.
