I had a similar problem, and I found out that when I unplugged a small
fan near the computer the problem was solved.  (Not a computer fan--a fan
that blew air on me, because my computer corner gets hot in the
summertime).

So while watching your monitor, start unplugging things and see if one
particular item is causing the problem.
