Maybe they assume that the newer keyboards and mouse connections are usb and not ps2.
I just got a new pc at work, 6 usb rear ports, 2 front usb ports, no ps2 ports.
You can always use a ps2/usb adapter to connect to a usb port.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Dual Mouse/Keyboard PS2 connector. How do they work?

Just started to see these on MB's. How do you connect a mouse AND a keyboard at the same time, buy a "Y" connector?
