  That *may* void your warranty or support agreement on the box, if you have
one....

  I recall that in Socket 7 days, many dual-capable motherboards didn't
include the voltage regulator for the second CPU.  I don't know if anyone
still does that, but upgrading to two *might* require more than just the
CPU.

  Do you know if the box uses regular PIII chips, or Xeons?  That could make
a difference, too.  I don't remember at exactly what point Intel dropped
multi capability from their non-Xeon chips.
