That looks to be the keyboard codepage select for DOS mode. Codepage 850
is international setup I think....english plus special characters for
other languages. It's only useful if you run programs directly from a DOS
shell or from a DOS window. Windows does it's own keyboard mapping
independent of DOS. Win 3.11 was the last version to rely on the DOS
codepage. If you don't run programs in DOS mode, it's safe to rem or
delete those lines from autoexec.bat. It will also save you some memory
to rem them out.
