Two Pentium III 500s do not equal the performance of a 1 gigahertz
processor. Dual Processors in a Windows NT4 or 2000 PC make use of about 75
percent of the combined processor speed. A dual processor BSD Unix machine
would come closer to using the full 100 percent of a dual processor system
but the single gigahertz would still be the winner.
