A few more things.

1. If you have the PPA3.MPD file in the IOSUBSYS folder, but do NOT have the
Zip drive attached, will the system boot?

2. I just read on the Zida support page that "All our new mainboards can
support IOMEGA ZIP drive and LS-120 driver." This implies that their older
boards couldn't. Is the BIOS for these two systems the newest one?

3. How about deleting the parallel ports from device manager and letting them
redetect?

4. Is there *any* other software loading on startup, including anti-virus
software, printer software, or *anything*? (Check not only the startup folder,
but also win.ini, system.ini, and the "Run" line in the registry.

And, an idle thought...is IE4 installed on these two computers?

(I just went through a similar problem with a Panasonic CD-ROM disk changer.
The Windows protection errors started after installation of Internet Explorer
4. It was painful.)
