Check the carriage shafts... A light coating of oil on it to make
sure the carriage moves freely.

Check the carriage belt. It's a cog belt and you may have some dirt
in one of the cogs. Or it may be split and the belt is jumping on
the carriage motor gear. Or it may be loose and you will have to
make it snug.

Check the carriage increment fence. It is the 1/4 high plastic piece
extending across the machine. Clean it with a soft cloth..
