Robert,

I recently had a similar problem with my one year old Acer monitor.  The
screen image would "resize" in the horizontal plane, and had a shaky quality
to it.  After swapping out monitors and cables, I determined the problem was
indeed the monitor, and sent it out to Acer for warranty repairs.  As an
interesting side note, the turnaround time, door-to-door (during
Thanksgiving week!) was exactly 7 days.  My monitor, not a replacement, was
returned to me, and it has been fine since.
