I had a friend bring in a new computer today that booted up this prompt:

C> type in location of commmand.com

I then used a boot diskette formatted with Windows 95 950A to boot up
the system and was unable to see the C: drive. I assumed that their new
WD hard drive had bit the dust but now I'm wondering if I should have
used an emergency boot diskette formatted with v. 950B.
The system was able to see an older Quantum drive I installed that had
v. 950A. Does the version of W95 on the emergency boot disk matter?
