   I'm continuing to have occasional system problems after a system
freeze-up and resulting corrupted registry. I'm now wondering if
it is time to bite the bullet and reload Win95 (OSR2). Should
a reformat be done first? See the errors listed below.

   (A couple weeks ago I sent in a posting entitled:
"Memory Leak - again- and resulting corrupted registry")
And asked if it was OK to use a 2 month old registry.

   I haven't done that, nor anything else yet to my PC, but
have been keeping an eye on things. Some programs are not working
properly, such as Quick View Plus which causes the PC to reboot.
I've gotten several blue screens, but no blue screen of death.
One message was "A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C0036715
in VXD VCACHE (01) + 0000007D" And there have been several similar
messages. Other things, like the McAfee Anti-virus, Netscape, Juno
email, etc have been working normally.

   Anyway, from the Bootlog.txt file, I get the following failures:

[0015E7AB] Loading Vxd = ndis2sup.vxd
[0015E7AD] LoadFailed  = ndis2sup.vxd
[0015E7B7] Loading Vxd = ebios
[0015E7B8] LoadFailed  = ebios
[0015E7B9] Loading Vxd = vshare
[0015E7BA] LoadFailed  = vshare
[0015E7CD] Loading Vxd = EBIOS
[0015E7CE] LoadFailed  = EBIOS
[0015E82A] DEVICEINIT   = VPOWERD
[0015E82C] DEVICEINITFAILED    = VPOWERD
[0015E9E0] INITCOMPLETE = SDVXD
[0015E9E1] INITCOMPLETEFAILED  = SDVXD
LoadStart = C:\WINDOWS\fonts\GOTHICB.TTF
LoadFail = C:\WINDOWS\fonts\GOTHICB.TTF Failure code is 0016

BTW, the system is about 2 years old, Pentium 133 Mhz, 32 meg EDO RAM,
2.5 gig HD (with about 1.5 gig unused), Intel 430VX chipset & mobo.
I'm running Win95B (4.00.950 B)- OSR2 installed.

   Suggestions? Is some hardware going bad? One person suggested the mobo.

Thanks,

Steve Snyder
