I already done that. Didn't work...

Yes, I am. However, I connected the printer directly to the LPT port and
uninstalled the scanner software and still had the problem.

You may want to consider uninstalling the software for the printer and
reinstalling the software again. Also, are you sharing the printer with any
hardware such as a scanner? This will cause funny characters to be printed
out also. You may have added this device and not realized this.

Fred Hahnel

Subject: [PCBUILD] Printing Problems

Hi All,

I have a dilemma. I have a Brother HL-645 Laser Printer. Ever since I
changed the drum, two - six small hearts print on the first page and then
the actual page is printed. This was sporatic at first but now has become
almost consistent with every time I print.

I have called Brother, After going through the usual, they concluded that it
was a Windows problem. I tend to agree, however I don't know what is causing
it.

Any suggestions?

Also, Windows hangs up on "shut down" and "restarts". Maybe someone knows
what could be causing this.

Sincerely,
Gregory D. Fox
