My first impression from your description was that this drive had a
CD-ROM interface built in, but if this is a 24x drive, I can't imagine
anyone still using a proprietary interface with a drive that new.

What I ASSUME is that it means you have a Panasonic CD-Audio adapter for
connecting your CD-ROM drive to the sound card for sound output as
opposed to a universal connector/cable.  Is that the only interface
that's listed?  Is your CD-ROM drive (via ribbon cable) connected to
this sound card, or to the IDE interface?
