That happened to my Epson Stylus Color 600, too.

Cause:
The printer was sitting idle for more than 1 month.

Solution:
Brought it to the Epson Service Center (under warranty) and they cleaned
the ink nozzles with a special cleaning solution. They adviced me to switch
"on" the printer at least once a day so that the ink wouldn't dry and clog
the jet nozzles.
