Subject: [PCBUILD] SATA and IDE on same pc

Greetings all,

I have a pc with SOYO Dragon2 mobo, 3.2 p-4 cpu, 2gig ram, an Axle
GeForce FX 5500 256MB/ 128 bit video card, a Creative Audigy 2zs pro
sound card,  a WD 10,000 rpm HD running xp home sp2 and I have Adobe
Audition software for recording, mixing and mastering.

I have a used WD 600 60gig 7200 rpm IDE HD that I would like to add
to this pc for the porpose of recording a live band from a mixing
console. I will probably use a tv@nywhere capture card to interface
with the mixing console unless someone knows of a better route to take
with my available hardware.

My main question is what is the best way to attatch the IDE to my pc?
The mobo is SATA only. I have a 3 port firewire card I can install but
most all the affordable external cases I looked at are usb 2.0. Would
I be better off with an internal adapter card or one of the adapters
that connects directly to the HD?

Unfortunately, cost is a consideration. The adapters and cases I'm
considering run about $25.00 and I don't think I can afford much more
than that.

 Thanks for any suggestions,

-Phil Williams-
