Hi, thanks for your reply. I have got the Irfanview program, although I
don't usually use it alot. I've just used it to scan a document, and yes,
the jpeg format option is there, so thanks for that.
I have been usually using the windows imaging program for scanning as that
is often my easiest option, but there is still no option within that to
change to the jpeg format. I got so used to using the windows based one, I
didn't think of trying any of my other options.
Which seems to confirm my suspicions as to whether my recent worm may have
corrupted some of the windows files........it was fine up until a few days
ago, round about the time I had the worm, which has now been removed.
I'll try and reload windows directly over the top of what's already here and
see how it goes now.
I would usually just format and reload, but I want to try and avoid that at
the moment if at all possible.
Thanks again.

How are you doing the conversion (What software)? I can't imagine a program
like Irfanview or Photoshop losing this function, so perhaps you're doing
this with the scanner software?
If so, try re-installing the software, or just get Irfanview.

Please can someone help me here, this is a stupid one that I can't find the
answer to.
Until recently, I was able to scan documents, etc and change just about
anything on my system into the Jpeg format. For some reason, I can't do it
any longer, it no longer gives me the option to do it, I don't know why.
