My friend has a problem that I haven't heard of before. Hopefully someone here can have an answer.
Upon first start up of her computer the mouse does not load, completely dead. After restarting the mouse is always recognized and works fine. This never varies.
I have removed the mouse and reinstalled with latest drivers, have run Chkdsk with repair box checked from Safe Mode, then on an off chance ran defrag. No help.

Dell Dimension 4300
Intel P4 1.60 ghz
WinXP Home
PS/2 mouse

TIA Jack
