As I know the ACPI is a very good standard, and new software follows
it strictly. However, hardware developers (for old mobo especially)
not alway follow it. Therefore, I commonly DESABLE any ACPI
functionality in BIOS! Then in Windose I go to the Control Panel/Power
Managements and set in NEVER option every device (HDD, display, etc.).
Now I have no problem with ACPI!
