Could be a number of things, internal or external? Internal the serial port
should have been off in the bios external it should have been on.. If it's a
Winmodem then the problems triple..
Was the plug in the right jack? Since he taked them into a new one you'll
never know.. I personally never let administrators touch the hardware... :)
