I have a set-up where I am using the Bell South "Ringmaster" on my one office phone line. They have given me 2 phone numbers on the single line. (one is for my FAX machine and the other is for my Voice and modem use)
The single line runs from the Bell South outside service, first to the FAX machine, and from the output of the FAX to the input of the internal 3COM Win Modem, and then from the output of the Modem to a single desk telephone..
The other day I was connected to the internet via the modem and I recieved a FAX... The FAX came through fine and the Internet connection remained fine...
Later I did a Modem Disconnect and all went well except now the desk phone won't work... The modem will connect and disconnect fine ... The FAX works fine.. but the desk phone has a constant beeping when the modem is disconnected from my ISP. To make things more confusing, I have another extension phone on the same line that at disconnect has a dial tone and works fine!
I have tried everything but no luck.. It is like the Modem Output will not release the desk phone.... Do I have Modem hardware problems?
Any help would be greatly appreciated... Bob Weekley
