I can't speak for the other brands because I haven't tried them.

Another note:

Intel is offering a sale on their Pro/100 Management NICs now.
Two for the price of one.  (The Pro/100 S Management NIC at two
for $49 is a step up in quality from the lower cost NICs reviewed
above. They have an on-board encryption co-processor for use with
Ipsec if you run NT4 or Win2000.) See

These are retail boxed adaptors direct from Intel. They also have
two for one pricing on their server and dual port network adaptors.
