  The K6-2 is a "latest and greatest" evolutionary product, whose price
should come down even further now that the K6-3 has been announced.
  The socket 370 Celeron is deliberately devolutionary step -- not the
best Intel could do, but something they believe they can sell under a
"market fragmentation" model, and is likely to be expensive to upgrade
from.
  The slot 1 Celeron is an anomaly.  The processor itself is pretty
decent; if you overclock, you may be able to match a PII for a fraction
of the price -- and even if you don't, PII may remain a viable upgrade
path if you get a 440BX-based motherboard.
