You are lucky and unlucky at the same time.  I have used the EIDEmax card
and was very pleased with it.  It did let me access all 2.1 GB of the
drive in an older 486sx!

The unlucky part is this:  if you have to fdisk the disk again (and you
will) you will lose all your data.  You could, of course, copy all the
info to your 350MB drive before reformatting the 850MB drive.
