The sole reason that I build my own rather then trusting someone else 
comes down to the trust factor.

When I build my own, I have complete control over the build quality and 
component quality.  I don't have to worry that the shop is using cheaper 
no-name parts in order to pad their bottom-line.  I also find that I 
come pretty close to their price, especially once you start looking at 
performance per dollar numbers.

Other then that reason, if you can find a local shop that will build to 
exact specs and offer a 3 year warranty, go with a local shop.
