Hello David,
My roommate and I each have one of the 8 port versions of your hub, the
DS-108. We have had them for about one year and have had no problems with
them. Make sure the end of the cable is in good condition, and the prongs
for each wire is clean and still pushed up enough to make full contact
inside the port on the hub.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Anybody have probs with Netgear/BayNetworks hubs? I
have DS-104...

Hello.

I have the Netgear/BayNetworks dual-switching 100/10Mbit 4-port hub, DS-104.

I bought this 2 months ago, and the contacts for port1 are already
intermittant.
I first assumed the port had died, but gently wiggling the connector has
regained the connection.

Are these hubs poorly made? It didn't seem so, esp. b/c the RJ-45 connectors
attach nice & snug.

Is there anything I can do to maximize the connection between port and UTP
connector? Perhaps better wires?

Thanks.

David
