From a DOS prompt at the root directory (C:\) type:

ren config.sys config.bat
ren autoexec.bat autoexec.bak

You'll need to know the manufacturer and model of the video card. Go to
their website and search for updated drivers. Expand them to a temporary
directory, right click on the desktop, select "Settings", select "Display
Type", select "Change", and point to the temporary directory where the new
drivers have been placed.

You may need to select the exact model from a list. Reboot the machine and
see if this helps. As for the virus scan, if you're running two now, you
should be safe. However it's best to boot from a clean floppy to be sure AND
make sure you have the most current virus definitions for both scanners.

Hope this helps,

Okay, how do I rename config.sys and autoexec.bat and upgrade the video
driver? And scan for a virus where? I have 2 virus programs that load up
on
a restart.

Thanks,
Susan Hays
