I operate a PIII machine using and ASUS CUVX4 Motherboard and WIN98. I am having problems with my CDROM drive in that sometimes it will read the inserted CD and sometimes it will not.
This is a SCSI CDROM operating from an ADAPTEC AHA2930 SCSI card. I have never had this type of problem before and am wondering what is causing this situation. I have tried different drives and SCSI cards with the same result.
The board also has integral USB connectors from which I am running an optical mouse.

Thought maybe someone could give me a clue as I don't have one right now.

Thanks.
