Hello,

     I'm having a problem with a Windows 98 computer.  I am getting the following message:

While Initializing Device VKD
Windows Protection Error
You Need To Restart Your Computer

     I have handled a problem like this before but not one that is the VKD error.  What is the Device VKD ?
I have searched Microsoft's tech support and it has nothing about this error.
     My next trick after all my attempts failed was to reinstall Windows 98.  When I tried this I would get to the point where setup says "copying files needed for windows setup" and the computer would quit responding.  A cusor would blink and that is all.  All the hardware in the computer checks out ok with my diagnostic card.  Anybody have an answer to this problem
