I really does sound as if the video is gone. Since it is a laptop, you will
need to replace the motherboard in the laptop. Unless you have another like
it, I doubt you will find the board unless you maybe find it on eBay.

Subject: graphics problem on an Acer laptop(repeat post)

> Greetings,

am attempting a second post.

> I would like to know what is required to "repair" this acer laptop which
has developed a problem with the graphics. Vertical lines and odd colours
obscure the visuals on the screen completely. The model is 390c - an old
pentium 150 I believe. The problem "displays" on an external monitor too
ruling out the possibility of being a plasma screen issue.
> Is there a "cheap" way to fix this and make the unit functional? Or is the
video "card" gone, and therefore only solution is to replace entire board?
