Thankyou everyone for you patience and help.

I have since tried 2X16meg RAM chips instead of the odd 4, and everything seems to be working!

Seems my poor computer couldn't cope with more chip, or perhaps there was a problem in the connections.

Thanks again

Hello again.

Further to my probs of Netscape and IE5 crashing constantly since I upgraded my RAM.

I have checked the chips, and I have 2 pairs that appear to be matched, although I can't work out what figures are the clock speeds.

72pin SIMS..2X8 meg in 4X2 config, and 2X8meg in 8X1 config.

I have run scandisk, a new virus checker, defragged, then given up and formatted the lot, and started from scratch.

I have a Pentium 100, with 32 meg RAM running Win 3.11 and DOS 6.22.

Sadly, the probs are not confined to Windows, Carmageddon (DOS game) also seems to lock and bomb now with monotonous regularity.

Perhaps I should go to my friendly computer repair shop, and try to get 4 RAM chips all the same? (Upgrading my OS is financially beyond me at present)

Thanks for your previous help and suggestions
