Hi, Tom..

Not really, because a ps/2 mouse or keyboard don't share the same port, only
when you use a combi pack with wireless mouse and keyboard. But the strange
thing is that they both use the same resources, that must not be possible,
but than again, windows can be vary strange sometimes...

Greetings, Anne

Subject: [PCBUILD] Defective mouse affects keyboard

> Thanks for everyone's help with my recent PS/2 keyboard problem. The
computer did not see the keyboard at boot-up and stopped. A USB keyboard
solved the problem. Then the computer did not see the mouse at boot-up. The
problem was a bent pin in the PS/2 mouse connector. Apparently the mouse and
keyboard share some resources. A question, hopefully of troubleshooting
interest to all: Will a keyboard or mouse that is defective for other than a
bent pin cause both to stop working?
