I have quite a number of APC surge protector/power supplies located
throughout my house. When the power goes off, as it did at 5:30am today, I
get an assorted cacophony of beeps, which I find highly annoying and would
like to quiet. The latest, a model 1250, has a mute button, which I think
worked ok. The previous one, a 950, has no way of muting as far as I can
tell. Some of the older ones can be set to go off only when the battery
level gets low. Generally, however, they can not be set the way I would
like to have them set!

I wonder if anyone here has successfully gone into these and silenced them
by cutting the wires to their beepers? Or unsuccessfully? ( Please, no
lectures on why I should not silence them. :) )

TIA,

Dean Kukral
