Hi Pam

I'm also using Nero and also get the occasional error when trying to write
CD's. When I get a problem I just make sure that I change the write speed to
1x and this seems to solve the problem. However if I use the pc while
writing a CD I often end up with a coaster but even then I don't get an
error message while burning, I just get a CD that doesn't work.

Have you tried burning at single speed ?

If that doesn't work try burning after changing the drive to Master and
disconnecting the other CD drive.
