First, I don't want to assume anything here, but have you allowed
the CMOS utility to search for and accept the settings for the
drive? and are the two drives' jumper settings 'where they need
to be'? Try this first.

Second, even a relatively recent board may need a BIOS flash. How
recent is your BIOS and can you download an update? If an update
is available, it is probably advisable to flash it.
